LPL Terminates Scott Williams Over Discretion Allegations

Publicly available records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and accessed on August 22, 2018 indicate that former Tennessee-based LPL Financial Services broker/adviser Scott Williams was recently discharged from his former employer in connection to alleged rule violations and is currently not affiliated with any broker-dealer firm. He is currently not registered with any state or firm.

According to his BrokerCheck report, he has received one denied customer complaint and was recently terminated from his former employer in connection to alleged rule violations.

In July 2018 he was terminated from his position at LPL Financial following allegations he violated firm policies regarding the use of discretionary authority in customer accounts.

In 2009 a customer alleged Scott Williams, while employed at JJB Hilliard WL Lyons, failed to follow instructions not to let the total value of his accounts decline under a certain value. The customer sought more than $112,000 in damages in the complaint, which was denied.
